Interview today!
It went really well. They are gonna call me back for a second interview on Thursday! I hope it works out, I really really like the store and think it'd be a perfect fit. Here is the outfit I wore to the interview. I feel like my last three outfit posts have been different incarnations of one outfit, just a different top, but that's nice that it's so remixable. I think I may start doing remix posts! Alright, here's what I chose to wear:peacoat/nordstrom : top/F21 : skirt/thrift : belt/brighton : tights/fred meyer : shoes/thrift
Of course now I have to come up with an outfit for my second interview! Oh well. At least I've started brainstorming. This is the first time I've ever worn this top. I like it, but it's not as versatile as other pieces in my closet, so I've never had the opportunity to wear it before. It's not my favorite top, but it's very nice.
I put false eyelashes on! And orangey lipstick. I was inspired by Flair to Remember in both of these decisions. If I'd had the time I would've gone to MAC to get the right shade of orange, but I didn't, so I just tried to work with what I had and mix my own. The photo makes it look more pink/red than it actually is.
I wanted to go for a vintage inspired look. I've never worn false eyelashes before, but they are really fun. They kind of freak out your eyelids for a while, but now I can't feel them at all.
Okay so here's my new project. I'm going to read the september issue of Vogue cover to cover.
I figure if I'm applying for a fashion journalism grad school, I should probably be reading Vogue, even if it's not exactly what I want to write for eventually. It is an industry standard. And while I'm more interested in Nylon, Real Simple and Juxtapoz, Vogue holds a place in magazine journalism met by few other publications. So, I'm reading it cover to cover. I will keep you updated on my progress and share with you my thoughts on its contents.
