You're a mom and pop, I'm a corporation

Well, I had an interview today, so here is my interview outfit! I wore this top for my last interview, I guess it's my go-to interview top. Maybe I just don't have any other suitable tops for interviews. When it really comes down to it, I don't have many fancy tops. In retrospect I probably shouldn't have taken my photos on the lake. My white skirt disappears in the snow! It was too pretty to not go down to the lake though. We've had so many sunny days this week!
All this prepping for interviews has made my brain think about cold corporate style. I think everyone feels like looking like a big shot executive every once in a while. I remember when I used to watch Lipstick Jungle and I was really taken with the whole "powerful woman" thing. I still am in awe of women who can run big companies, but I don't really want it for myself (in contradiction to today's post title), I think I'm more of a small town/small business type girl.

Anyway, speaking of corporate, I was window shopping today and was quite taken with the very corporate, grey looks. I'm sure by this time of winter everyone is sick of wearing drab colors like grey, but I have about four months left of winter so grey will be working for me for quite some time. Plus, I like how sharp grey can look; crisp and clean. I especially like a corporate look if there is some sort of eclectic twist to it, a cool scarf, interesting shoes, or a funky skirt/top.

I was over at The Clothes Horse this morning and she had this wonderful little video of this ring, so I went over to the site and just fell in love with this ring. I am very in favor of a non-traditional wedding/engagement ring, and this one has TOTALLY made the cut. How perfect are the carved initials in the side? I'm in love.
