Straight and Narrow

Can you notice what is different about me in these photos?

I straightened my hair last night! I was inspired by the photos of a brunette Lady Gaga and this lovely lady from Lookbook:

Let me tell you, my hair does NOT like being straight. It won't even really get completely straight. Maybe if I went to a professional stylist and had them straighten it, but I can't get it to be stick straight. My mom thinks my hair looks more black straight, but I thought the opposite and was considering dying it again. I don't know if I want to keep dying it black though, it really limits my ability to change it whenever I want. As it is the black dye is stuck, even though it was washout dye and done last, oh, like nine months ago.
I'm thinking of spending the next few months lightening my hair until it's red, for a complete change. I've never had my hair lighter than my natural dark brown, so it could be an interesting experiment. I've never liked being "fake," and that extends to my make-up and hair decisions. In high school I didn't wear make up because I decided that if I dated someone, I wanted them to like me, and think that I was beautiful, not because I was all gussied up. I never dyed my hair until about a year ago when I dyed it black.
Now, I feel like if I change my hair or wear make up it's not because I want a boy to like me, and I don't feel fake if I put on eyeliner. The things I do are for me, and a reflection of who I am, so having a hair color that isn't my natural color, or wearing a little make up doesn't bother me. Plus, I have no desire to date or be in a relationship, so I have nothing to lose, right? Haha!

Anyway, what do you guys think about my hair situation? Lighten it? Keep it as it is? Dye it black again?
And about 1000% of my comments on Chictopia and Lookbook are about my hair, and I get a lot of questions about what I do to it, so I'm gonna do a little tutorial (though I'm not sure it will be very helpful, as 90% of the time I just wake up and go). But I will tell you what my post wash/dry regimen is and what products I use. Not this post though, I have already talked about my hair far too much this post.

If you guys have any questions for me (yes, you can even ask me about my hair), shoot me an email at delightfully-tacky@hotmail.com and I'll answer your guys' questions here at my blog!
