Last night my mom flew into Portland to visit my brother, so I decided to drive down and see them. It was a super quick trip (and if I'd planned better I would've gone down earlier to hang out with blog friends!), but it's been a while since I've seen them, especially my brother, so it was fun. Thankfully Seattle is the closest place in the lower 48 that you can fly to from Anchorage, so it's not a hassle for my parents to come visit. That's actually one of the reasons I kind of wanted to live in the Seattle area. Even if I can't live in the same town as my family, it's at least nice to live only one flight away.
