Sweet Summer

Summer is so great.  I almost can't remember the grey, rainy days that stretch on for months.  I'm not looking forward to going back to that.  But for now it's heaven on earth!  Dan is probably going back to school in the fall, so we're cherishing this summer break time before life gets super busy again in a couple months.  I'm excited for fall, but I could honestly go for a few more months of this glorious weather.  Lately I've been feeling pretty creative and productive.  Maybe it's the weather.  I'm just feeling a lot more energized and less sluggish than I used to.  I'm really enjoying cooking up tasty things in the kitchen, doing my design work, working out, and taking photos.  Dan and I are coming to realize that spending time in the kitchen is pretty damn awesome.  Cooking, making drinks,  eating delicious things, collaborating, spending time together.  I love spending time in the kitchen, and I love how in any house, the kitchen is where people tend to congregate.  We're making sure that the next place we live has a kitchen that's much bigger (okay, well, everything much bigger, but most importantly: kitchen).

Despite not wanting fall to come at all, I feel like I'm subconsciously planning for it.  I'm already keeping my eye out for the perfect winter coat.  My favorite go-to has been so for a few years and I'd hate to run it into the ground with another winter, so I want to find a perfect winter coat before things start getting super chilly.  My brain has also decided to start thinking about making homemade Christmas presents.  ALREADY.  Well, that's probably a good thing because by the time I actually start doing it I'm sure it'll be down to the wire.  Even though I'm sad thinking about summer leaving, the end of the year really is an exciting time.  Halloween, our 1st anniversary, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years... it's a busy time of year!  Hopefully it'll keep my mind off the grey, wet weather.
