new traditions

Dan and I have been trying to come up with traditions for us to do in our new life together and I knew that I wanted an annual autumn pumpkin patch visit to be one of them. I've never been to a pumpkin patch before, well... I'm pretty sure I went to one in California when I was really little. October in Alaska is much more wintery than down here in Washington, so I suspect that has something to do with why we never went to one when I was a kid. I was super excited to get to go to one this year! We went to Spooner Farms in Puyallup, and it was awesome! It had a corn maze that we went through, a great little place for kids to see chickens, pigs, and bunnies, and a fun gift shop full of jams, pies and other great autumn sundries.

We went with our friends Kaela & Jason and their little son Crosby. He loved running around looking at all the crazy new (to him) things. There were giant spiders made out of pvc pipe and hay bales, he was mesmerized by them!
